The Oakland Zoo is teaming up with the Pitt basketball team this weekend for their first-ever 3-on-3 charity basketball tournament. Tipoff for the tournament is set for noon at the Petersen Events Center with all proceeds going to the Big Brothers Big Sisters Club of Greater Pittsburgh. Head Coach Jamie Dixon and current Panther players will be present for the tournament, which will consist of 32 teams in a double elimination bracket format. The two teams advancing to the championship game will play in the title during halftime of a Pitt men's basketball game with the date still to be determined. Doors open to the public (students and non-students) at 11 a.m. on Sunday. General admission for the event is $1 per ticket. All collected admission fees will be donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. The Oakland Zoo will also be there to collect any other donations to the charity.
Come
out and support your Oakland Zoo and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater
Pittsburgh in this fun event. Additional details to be released on PittsburghPanthers.com later today.
