The Pitt men's basketball team is back in action Monday and
Tuesday night for the NIT
Season Tip-Off at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers will host
Fordham Monday at 6 p.m. and will meet up with the winner/loser of Robert
Morris vs. Lehigh on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
The team with the best record will advance to the NIT Season
Tip-Off Semifinal and Final Rounds on Nov. 21 and 23 at Madison Square Garden.
Additionally, the women's basketball team will host Siena on
Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field house. The game marks the first time the
Pitt women have played in Fitzgerald Field House since March 24, 2006 when they
defeated Virginia, 68-58, in the WNIT Quarterfinals.
- * All week 100.7 FM Star Pittsburgh will be broadcasting from
the lobby of the Petersen Events Center in an effort to "Pack the Pete." In
conjunction with Star and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, we're
asking for fans to drop off non-perishable food items for a chance to win
Taylor Swift tickets.
- * Fans are reminded that you are able to pass along your
tickets to friends and family, sell them online or donate to a charity if you
are unable to attend through the Panthers' digital
ticketing system. The Panthers Ticket Office opens 2.5 hours prior to
tipoff for each game and will call and game day ticket sales (if available) are
located at the outside windows at the front of the building.
- * Monday night's game against Fordham will be broadcast live
on ESPN3.com, while Tuesday's contest will be on ESPNU.
- * Gates to the Petersen Events Center arena will open 1.5
hours prior to tipoff and a free shuttle service begins operating three hours
prior to game time.
- * The Campus View Club opens 90
minutes prior to tip-off during
the regular season. For Big East Conference games with a tip-off of 6:00 p.m.
or later, the Club will open 2 hours prior to tip-off. For Big East Conference games with a
tip-off earlier than 6:00 p.m., the club will open 90 minutes prior.
