Following the announcement that the University of Pittsburgh will retire legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald's No. 1 jersey during the season opener at Heinz Field against Florida State on Sept. 2, we asked fans via social media to name their favorite Fitzgerald moments from his incredible career as a Panther.
It couldn't have been easy to select a single moment from the Pitt career of a man who caught a remarkable 34 touchdowns in just two seasons, but the fans did their best.
Here are just a few of the responses we received:
Andrew Young answered with one of Fitzgerald's famous diving catches in blue and gold: "That nasty catch in between three guys at Texas A&M."
Tony DelSardo also chose another full-extension catch. He remembered "seeing Larry Fitzgerald stretch out on a pass against Oregon State in a bowl game for a TD."
Paul Pirozzola recalled a trick play that resulted in one of Fitzgerald's many touchdowns: "The halfback option pass from Kirkley for a TD against Boston College to keep his TD streak alive."
Kirk Domanick responded with "a very underrated catch was the one caught at Temple draped in defenders."
Be there on Monday, Sept. 2 as we retire the jersey of the most prolific wide receiver in Pitt history - Larry Fitzgerald. Continue to share your moments with us on Twitter using #LarryLegend.
