- Trees Hall and Trees Pool opened in 1962 and at that time featured one pool and a large gym. One year later, a smaller gym and smaller pool were added to the facility. The 75-by-165 foot Olympic size pool (which has a 770,000 gallon capacity) has the dual capability of an eight-lane, 50-meter course or a 20-lane 25-yard course. The diving area is well equipped with two one-meter and two three-meter durafirm stands with maxiflex boards, in addition to multiple diving towers with a 16-foot water depth.
- Trees Pool has served as the Panthers' swimming and diving teams' home pool. In 1998, Pittsburgh hosted its 15th Big East Conference championship in the facility.
- Trees Hall has seen recent renovations. In 1999, the gymnasium floors were resurfaced to provide a secondary practice facility for many of the Panthers teams.
