PITT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Track & Field: Taranisha Taylor. Freshman Taranisha Taylor won the 60 meter hurdles at the Penn State Relays. After qualifying second in the prelims, Taylor ran a career-best time of 8.63 in the finals for her first collegiate individual title. She crossed the line ahead of Penn State’s Brittney Howell who finished in 8.77. (Read more).

Football: Devin Street. Junior Devin Street led the receivers with seven catches for 83 yards and one touchdown against Ole Miss in the BBVA Compass Bowl. (Read more).
Women’s Basketball: Asia Logan: Junior Asia Logan recorded a double-double in both of Pitt’s games this week. In a 55-54 victory at Old Dominion, Logan had 21 points and 13 rebounds. She followed that up with another 21 points against Seton Hall while adding 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. She led Pitt in scoring in both games. (Read more).
Track & Field: Jonnique Lawrence. Senior Jonnique Lawrence finished second in the 200 meter dash at the Penn State Relays, and also made the finals of the 60 meter dash, finishing fourth overall. Her 200 meter dash time of 24.53 was the fastest time of any Pitt runner this season (Read more).
