As academics are very important to the ACC, the conference has an organization called the Atlantic Coast Conference Inter-Institutional Academic Collaborative (ACCIAC). This organization (comprised of representatives, mostly academic, from each member institution) aims to enrich undergraduate educational experiences for all students by sponsoring activities, programs and academic initiatives best supported by all universities acting in concert. The funding comes from a portion of the revenue generated by the ACC Football Championship Game and supplemental allocations by individual universities.
