PITTSBURGH-The Cathy & John Pelusi Family Life Skills Program presented its third annual Professional Etiquette Training Series on Monday at the University Club, where student athletes learned how to dress for different occasions.
“Dress for success is all about helping our student athletes cultivate their professional presence,” Coordinator of Career and Life Skills for Student –Athletes Lisa Auld said.
To convey this information to the student-athletes, The Life Skills staff put together a fashion show. Several of Pitt’s coaches and athletic administrators strutted down the runway, showing off different styles of attire including game day, business casual, business professional, cocktail and formal wear.
Student-athletes, also dressed for the occasion, were given current yet timeless information of how they should dress in those different settings.
"I learned a lot tonight," Casey Roche a member of the Pitt baseball team said. "We gained knowledge on how to present ourselves properly in many different settings including an interview situation, which I’m glad they included since a lot of us will have to prepare for that situation very soon."
Dress for Success is the first of a three part etiquette series that student athletes will be attending.
