New Traffic Advisory - Feb. 20, 2009

Route 38 Northbound (Outbound): Traffic near the Heinz Plant will be reduced to single lane. The right lane will be closed and temporary barrier will be installed between the Chestnut Street and Heinz Street overpasses. The acceleration lane/on-ramp to northbound Route 28 from the Veterans Bridge (I-579) will remain open during daylight hours. However, this lane will be closed at night to allow drilling operations to occur in the work zone. The ramp will remain open; however, ramp traffic will be required stop when the acceleration lane is closed.
Dates: Monday Night, February 23, 2009, around-the-clock through early August 2009.



I-279 (Parkway North) both directions: Lane and shoulder closures and ramp shifts will occur as needed daily and nightly between Exit 20 (I-79) and Exit 8B (East Street).
Dates: Monday, February 16, 2009 daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm and nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Saturday, February 21, 2009.



Route 380 (Penn Avenue) and Route 8 (Fifth Avenue): Various Lane closures and restrictions (weather permitting) at the following intersections:

  • Fifth Avenue and Hamilton Avenue
  • Fifth Avenue and Frankstown Avenue
  • Penn Avenue and East Liberty Boulevard

  • Dates: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. through Friday, February, 27, 2009.

    I-279 (Parkway North) both directions: Lane and shoulder closures and ramp shifts will occur as needed daily and nightly between Exit 20 (I-79) and Exit 8B (East Street).
    Dates: Monday, February 16, 2009 daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm and nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Saturday, February 21, 2009.

    I-279 (Parkway North) both directions: Lane and shoulder closures and ramp shifts will occur as needed daily and nightly between Exit 20 (I-79) and Exit 8B (East Street).
    Dates: Monday, Jan. 26, 2008 daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm and nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Sunday morning, February 1, 2008.



    Route 28 North:will be reduced to single lane between the Chestnut Street and Heinz Street overpassesbetween the Chestnut Street and Heinz Street overpasses, The right lane will be closed and temporary barrier will be installed.
    Dates: Monday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. around-the-clock through early August 2009.



    I-279 (Parkway North) both directions: Lane and shoulder closures and ramp shifts will occur as needed daily and nightly between Exit 20 (I-79) and the Fort Duquesne Bridge.
    Dates: Monday, Feb.2, 2008 daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. through Saturday morning, February 7, 2008.

    I-376 Inbound (westbound) Parkway East: right lane closure in various locations between the Monroeville (Exit 10) and Edgewood/Swissvale (Exit 7).
    Dates: Saturday, Jan. 10, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon.



    Inbound (northbound) I-279 (Parkway West): right lane closure in various locations between Carnegie (Exit 2) and Greentree (Exit 4).
    Dates: Saturday, Jan. 10, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon.



    I-279 (Parkway North) both directions: Lane and shoulder closures and ramp shifts will occur between Exit 20 (I-79) and Exit 8B (East Street).
    Dates: Nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, January 12 through Saturday afternoon, Jan. 17



    University Drive has re-opened to traffic in all directions.





    New Traffic Advisory - Dec. 2, 2008

    I-279 (Parkway North) Both Directions: Lane closures (NOT full closures) and ramp shifts will occur as needed daily between Exit 20 (I-79) and Exit 8B (East Street).
    Dates: Daily between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.and nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Dec. 1 Through Sunday morning, Dec. 7.



    I-376 (Parkway East): Outbound (eastbound) Single to Double lane closure (one lane open in work zone) from the Edgewood Swissvale Interchange (Exit 7) to the Greensburg Pike Interchange (Exit 9).
    Dates: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 to Thursday, Dec. 4.



    I-376 (Parkway East): Outbound (eastbound) Double lane closure (one lane open in work zone) will occur in the area of the bridge that carries the Parkway East over Saline Street west of the Squirrel Hill Interchange (Exit 5). The lane closures will only occur in the area of the bridge.
    Dates: 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4.



    I-376 (Parkway East): Inbound (westbound) Single lane closure (one lane open in work zone) from the Monroeville Interchange (Exit 10) to the Edgewood Swissvale interchange (Exit 7).
    Dates: 9 p.m. on Friday night, Dec. 5, to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7.


    Fans are encouraged to find an alternate route into Oakland.


    University Drive Closure Extended: Due to a road closure, fans will not be able to enter University Drive from Centre Avenue. From the same intersection, fans can enter Allequippa Street and make a left on University Drive at the second stop sign. From the bottom of University Drive (at Parkman Avenue), fans can travel University drive but will not have direct access to Centre Avenue. From University drive, fans can make a right turn on to Allequippa Street to access Centre Avenue.

    This detour will be in effect THROUGH DECEMBER 12,2008.





    New Traffic Advisory - Nov. 14, 2008

    I-376 (Parkway East): Outbound (eastbound) I-376 will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16, from the Edgewood Swissvale Interchange (Exit 7) to the Monroeville Interchange (Exit 10B). Expect delays if heading home from the game via 376 East on Friday Nov. 14.
    Dates: 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 around-the-clock to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16.

    Fans are encouraged to find an alternate route into Oakland.


    University Drive: Due to a road closure, fans will not be able to enter University Drive from Centre Avenue. From the same intersection, fans can enter Allequippa Street and make a left on University Drive at the second stop sign. From the bottom of University Drive (at Parkman Avenue), fans can travel University drive but will not have direct access to Centre Avenue. From University drive, fans can make a right turn on to Allequippa Street to access Centre Avenue.

    This detour will be in effect until the beginning of December.

    I-376 (Parkway East): Inbound lanes will be restricted to a single lane between Exit 10A (Monroeville) and Exit 7 (Edgewood). Expect delays. Outbound lanes will remain open.
    Dates: 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 around-the-clock to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9.

    Fans are encouraged to find an alternate route into Oakland.


    University Drive: Due to a road closure, fans will not be able to enter University Drive from Centre Avenue.     I-376 (Parkway East): All inbound (westbound) lanes will be closed between Exit 10A (Monroeville) and Exit 9 (Greensburg Pike). Outbound lanes will remain open.
    Dates: 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, to 5 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.
    Posted detour: Traffic will exit at Churchill following straight onto Penn Avenue (Route 2110) reentering the inbound Parkway East from the Penn Avenue on-ramp.

    Fans are encouraged to find an alternate route into Oakland.


    University Drive: Due to a road closure, fans will not be able to enter University Drive from Centre Avenue.
