PITT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Football: Ray Vinopal. Vinopal had a monster game against No. 24 Notre Dame with seven tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 0.5 TFLs. His fumble came on the Pitt 6-yard line as ND’s TJ Jones was running for the end zone. His first interception came in the Pitt end zone to halt a Notre Dame scoring opportunity, and he returned his second interception 40 yards to the Notre Dame 5-yard line which set up the game-winning score. Both of his interceptions came in the fourth quarter and he now is leading the team in that category with three. For his efforts, Vinopal was named ACC Defensive Back of the Week. (Read More).
