PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department has once again teamed up with CBS Radio, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and UPMC Health Plan for its ‘Pack the Pete’ Food Drive, which runs from Monday, Nov. 18 through Friday, Nov. 22.

CBS Radio 100.7 Star will be broadcasting live from the Petersen Events Center lobby around the clock to help take donations of nonperishable food items. Fans can also bring donations to the PEC on Wednesday, Nov. 20 when they attend the Pitt men’s basketball contest against Lehigh.

CBS Radio 100.7 Star broadcast schedule (Petersen Events Center Lobby):
Monday, Nov. 18 – 5:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 19 – 5:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 20 – 5:30 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 21 – 5:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 22 – 5:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Those who make a donation will receive a ticket to the seventh annual women’s basketball ‘Hometown vs. Hunger’ game against Buffalo on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. Fans who cannot make it to the Petersen Events Center next week to drop off their donation can bring a nonperishable item on game day to collect free admission to the women’s contest.

Last year’s ‘Pack the Pete’ promotion raised over 5,000 pounds of food for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, which serves an 11-county region in Western Pennsylvania. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank distributes almost 1.7 million pounds of food every month to those in need.

The Panthers are also participating in ‘Pitt’s People for Pets,’ which supports Chow Wagon – a program of animal friends that helps hundreds of households each month by supplying pet food and treats to community food pantries throughout our region.

Fans are encouraged to donate unopened dry or canned pet food and sealed treats to one of the 16 drop off locations listed below:
