PITT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:

Volleyball: Jenna Potts. The redshirt freshman helped the Panthers win a pair of road matches with a three set victory at Syracuse and a five set victory at Boston College. She tallied 10 kills and 11 blocks on the weekend, including eight kills and nine blocks against the Eagles as Pitt came back from two sets down to win in five, 3-2. Potts is tied for 10th in the ACC averaging 1.15 blocks per set and she is just seven blocks away from cracking Pitt's Top-10 for blocks in a single-season. (Read More). 

OTHER TOP WEEKLY PERFORMERS:

Men's Basketball: Lamar Patterson. Patterson scored a season-high 20 points on 7-11 shooting in an 84-52 victory against Howard in the opening round of the Progressive Legends Classic at the Petersen Events Center on Sunday. Patterson also added five rebounds, four assists and two steals to his stat line. Through three games, Patterson is leading the team in scoring (12.7 ppg) and assists (6.0 apg). (Read More).

Football: James Conner. The freshman running back notched his third career 100-yard rushing game on Saturday against North Carolina. He finished the contest with 19 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers. Conner has a team-high seven rushing touchdowns this season. (Read More).

Wrestling: Tyler Wilps. The redshirt junior recorded one of Pitt's two pins during the Panthers season-opening victory over Lock Heaven on Friday night. After Lock Heaven cut into the Panthers lead with back-to-back wins, Wilps (wrestling at 165) pinned LHU' Travis Moyer near the edge of the mat at 4:39 to increase Pitt's lead to 20-10. No. 14 Pitt would go on to win 27-14. (Read More).

Football: Aaron Donald. Donald had a standout game on the defensive line for the Panthers against North Carolina with five tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, a forced fumble and five quarterback hurries. Donald continues to lead the nation in tackles for loss (2.3), is sixth in quarterback sacks (1.0) and is eighth in forced fumbles (0.40). Donald is a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, Rotary Lombardi Award and Ronnie Lott IMPACT Trophy. (Read More) (Vote Donald - Semifinalist for Lott IMPACT Trophy).
