PITT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Men’s Basketball: Steven Adams. Freshman Steven Adams notched his first collegiate double-double with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in Pitt’s 89-40 victory against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday evening. Adam was 6-9 from the field and helped Pitt record its largest margin of victory in Petersen Events Center history. (Read more).
OTHER TOP PITT WEEKLY PERFORMANCES
Men’s Basketball: J.J. Moore. Moore led the Panthers with 18 points against Bethune-Cookman and matched his career-high with eight field goals made. This was his fourth game this season reaching double-figures. (Read more).
Men’s Basketball: Tray Woodall: Woodall registered a season-high 10 assists. It marked his eighth career double figure assist game. He remains in fourth place on Pitt’s all-time career 10-plus assist games and trails Darelle Porter (13 from 1987-91), Brandin Knight (11 from 1999-2003) and Levance Fields (9 from 2005-09) on the list. Men’s Basketball: Freshman Durand Johnson fought off a double team and whipped a pass to J.J. Moore who dunked the ball over a Bethune-Cookman defender during a 20-5 Pitt run. (Read more).
