Maureen Anderson joined the athletic department in March of 1998 to lead its development efforts. She was promoted to assistant athletic director in June of 2002.
In her current capacity, Anderson coordinates strategy for and solicits principal and leadership gifts made to the Department of Athletics. Anderson assists with strategic planning for Pitt Athletics' Quest for Excellence campaign, which is an extension of the University's Discover a World of Possibilities capital campaign and directs stewardship efforts for leadership and principal gift donors. In addition, Anderson works directly with the University's Institutional Advancement division on a variety of development initiatives and is a member of the Department of Athletics' senior staff.
Anderson has compiled more than 25 years of professional experience in retailing, marketing and fundraising activities in the Pittsburgh area. Most of her career spanned a highly successful tenure with retail-giant Kaufmann's, where she held buyer and divisional merchandise manager positions in women's sportswear. She also served as special events and marketing coordinator for Family House.
Anderson is married to Eric North Anderson. The couple resides in Fox Chapel, Pa., and has two children - Eric and Kristyn.
