Paul Barto has been with Pitt Athletics since 2004. Barto's responsibilities include the management of PantherVision and coordination of game presentation at both football and basketball games.
Barto joins the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department after working a combined eight years with the Pittsburgh Penguins in its television production and game presentation department. From 1996-2004, he served as the Penguins' Director of Production Services and Game Presentation. His many responsibilities included the supervision of all aspects of team video production including video board presentation and in-game operations along with the creation of television commercials.
Prior to his tenure with the Penguins, Barto produced and edited the weekly half-hour Foodland High School Sports television show on WPXI-TV which was hosted by Mark Malone and Paul Steigerwald.
A native of Evans City, Pa., Barto earned his bachelor's degree from Waynesburg College (Pa.) in communication arts/media studies with an emphasis in sports broadcasting. Barto resides in Harmony with his wife Michelle.
