Chris Gilman is in his second year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with Pitt Athletics, working primarily with men's soccer, softball, and gymnastics teams.

Before arriving in Pittsburgh, Gilman served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Villanova University. While with the Wildcats, Gilman worked with both football and Olympic sport teams. He has also spent time coaching at the University of Tennessee and University of North Texas.

A western Pennsylvania native, Gilman attended Edinboro University where he earned his bachelor's degree in health and physical education in 2006. While at Edinboro, Gilman was a member of two conference championships as a football player and was a long jumper for the men's track and field team. Upon graduation, he taught health and physical education in and around the Pittsburgh area and competed nationally as an Olympic weightlifter. From 2008-2010, Chris served as a graduate assistant football coach, where he also earned a master's degree in education.
