Beyond the Bio
Favorite Place on the University of Pittsburgh Campus?
My favorite place on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus is on lower campus at Schenley Park in the green space. It is a view for all to love, you have the Cathedral of Learning to one side of you, the Heinz Chapel in sight, the Student Union with the beautiful flowers and Panther Statue, Hillman Library on the other side of you, You can see Frick Arts gorgeous fountain….it is like the eye of the campus with all great sights surrounding you there while enjoying a lunch on the grass.
Favorite sports moment at Pitt?
My favorite sports moments at Pitt, without a doubt would be when my youngest son Peyton, who is on the football team, was on the sideline in his uniform for the very first time as a freshman. But a smidge away from that moment was watching James Conner score his first touchdown after coming back from beating Cancer, and then next to that would be beating Penn State & Clemson in the same year – in case you missed it, it was amazing!
What is the one thing everyone should do when they visit the City of Pittsburgh?
Take one of the inclines to the top of Mt. Washington and see the City light up at night.
What do you most love about the University of Pittsburgh?
What I love most about the University of Pittsburgh, hands down is the people. My work family is like my own family and I love that they are a part of my life away from work as well as my work life.
What is your favorite aspect of working in the University of Pittsburgh athletic department?
My favorite aspect of working in the Pitt athletic department is seeing these young athletes evolve from being a student athlete to giving back in the community and becoming great adults and success stories that sometimes on the outside world you don’t get to see that first hand. Our Life Skills department does amazing things with these kids to get them ready for the world outside of college.
My favorite thing I love most about of working in the athletics department is that with having 4 boys I love that I can have a great conversations about sports with them and actually know what I am talking about. I would much rather talk about WPIAL Football than the ballet.
If I could have dinner with 3 people who would it be and why?
Mother Theresa, I don’t really think this needs an explanation as to why, but who wouldn't want to have dinner with someone of her compassion.
Princess Diana, Mesmerized by her grace and class, her compassion for those less fortunate as well.
My parents who have passed on, the two biggest influences in my life would be my parents and how blessed I was to have them and would love another dinner with them to share our love and memories around the table one more time.
If you can’t give it your best it’s not worth doing.
Hobbies outside of work
My hobbies mainly always included my four boys' sports but I love to be around family and friends. I love the outdoors and traveling.
