Greg Szklany joined the athletics department at Pittsburgh as an Assistant Director of Media Relations in July 2014.He serves as the primary contact for men's soccer, cross country, wrestling, swimming and diving and baseball.
Before coming to Pittsburgh, Szklany was an Athletic Communications Assistant at Syracuse University during the 2013-14 school year. He was responsible for the public and media relations for the Orange volleyball, tennis and softball teams, in addition to serving as a secondary contact for men's basketball and football.
As the Assistant Sports Information Director at Hamilton College from 2012-13, Szklany was the secondary contact for all 29 varsity sports. He also worked as a media relations assistant with the New England Small College Athletic Conference during a three month span, acting as a liason between the conference and member schools.
Szklany graduated from Syracuse in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in sport management, completing an internship with the Le Moyne College Sports Information office in his final semester. Upon graduating, he spent two and a half years as a marketing and public relations assistant at Fleet Feet Sports in Syracuse.
Szklany and his wife, Kathryn, currently reside in Pittsburgh, Pa.
