Jennifer Tuscano has overseen the academic support for women's basketball for the past seven years. During her tenure all women's basketball student-athletes who have completed their eligibility have also earned degrees under Tuscano.
Tuscano pushes student-athletes to not only reach their goals, but surpass expectations. In 2009, she was awarded the Charles S. Miller Award for exceptional commitment, teamwork and pride in the pursuit of the athletic department's goals.
In addition to her responsibilities as academic coordinator, Tuscano joined the Panthers' radio broadcast team as a color analyst (2005-06). Last season, she was also the color commentator for the newly formed Pitt Panthers Television Network.
Tuscano arrived at Pitt after serving as the Director of Athletics for the Meyersdale Area School District. She was responsible for all scheduling of athletics events, as well as directing and supervising after school tutoring programs for the district's student-athletes. She also served as the head coach of the Meyersdale Area Junior High Girl's Basketball team from 1997-2003. Tuscano was also a member of the Meyersdale Athletic Boosters, the PIAA District 5 Committee and the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
Tuscano received her bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1999, where she spent four years on the women's basketball team. She recently completed her master's degree in sports science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
