Lund Earns Fourth ACC Weekly Honors

Pasadena, Calif., Native Named Freshman of the Week
GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Pittsburgh volleyball player Kayla Lund was named ACC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season after having a standout showing for the Panthers who swept both Clemson and Georgia Tech last weekend.
Pitt's two freshmen in Lund and Chinaza Ndee have combined to the earn the freshman-designated award six times this season, the most of any ACC team.
Lund had a solid weekend for Pitt, as the squad downed both the Tigers and Yellow Jackets in straight sets to remain atop of the ACC standings. The Panthers currently remain tied for first place with Louisville heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
The Pasadena, Calif., native tallied 19 kills on the weekend, posting 3.17 kills per set, and also had 10 digs (1.67/set) and three blocks.
Lund opened the weekend with a nice offensive performance, hitting .389 at Clemson. She tallied 10 kills in 18 attempts. Lund also had three digs and three blocks.
Against Georgia Tech, Lund tallied nine kills, while posting seven digs.
The Panthers will close out the regular season this weekend as they head to Virginia Tech and Virginia. Pitt will take on the Hokies Friday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. before heading to Charlottesville, Va., to face the Cavaliers Saturday, Nov. 25 also at 4 p.m.
