OUR COMMITTEE'S FAVORITE PITT MEMORIES

Kevin Barthelemy
Being able to travel the country and play in some amazing college stadiums.

Joan Bigley
The comeback win over West Virginia 36-35 on Homecoming day.

Lauren Delsignore
The Backyard Brawl in 2007. In 2007, I was a sophomore in high school and most of my classmates were WVU fans. During this specific season, it is needless to say that I received a lot of flak. Coming in to the December 1st game, WVU was 10-1 and Pitt was 4-7.. When Pat Bostick scored the only touchdown for Pitt on a 1-yard quarterback sneak to make it 10-7 in the third quarter and then in the fourth quarter when Lee made the 18-yard field goal, my father and I knew that Pitt was going to win. Pitt's defense just dominated the line of scrimmage. Again, it should be needless to say, the following Monday no one was bringing up how an unranked Pitt team ruined the chances for WVU to see a national championship....except me.

Danielle Dietrich
The last game at Pitt Stadium.

Casey Doran
Being a part of the Oakland Zoo during the Syracuse blackout game! (ripping our newspapers and throwing them at our first basket is my favorite part of the game).

Chris Gates
My favorite Pitt memory was traveling down to Morgantown in 2007. That game resulted in one of the toughest performances by a Pitt football team I've ever seen, as the Panthers upset the Mountaineers, 13-9, and dashed their hopes at playing for the National Championship. I've never walked out of a stadium so proud!

Rick Gradisek
Pitt Stadium game vs. Washington Sept 1963, beating Penn State 24-7 @ Three Rivers Stadium Nov. 1976 and Winning National Championship vs. Georgia (27-3), Jan. 1, 1977.

Adam Gunn
Pitt 13 - WVU 9

David Jedlicka
Ronald Ramon's game winning 3 pointer against WVU.

Nicole (King) Yohe
In 2008, my friends and I braved an early March snowstorm to watch Pitt take on Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. Pitt was down 11 with 3:49 remaining, but went on to win by 5. I have attended far more consequential games, but that was definitely one of the most satisfying wins I have had the pleasure of witnessing in person.

Caitlin McLaughlin
Pitt vs. WVU game in 2007, but even before that the game where Pitt came back from a huge deficit to beat WVU in Morgantown in the fourth quarter. You could hear a pin drop in that stadium. Also being in the front row at the Field House the night that Jerome Lane broke the back board.

Joseph Mills
Beating WVU in 3 overtimes and getting my family hooked on Pitt Football because of that game. Thanksgiving has never been the same!

E.J. Nemet
So many to choose from, but nothing was better than the feeling I had when I was able to take my boys to their first game. I was so proud to share the Pitt experience with them.

Lisa Pilewski
My favorite memory would have to be the December 1, 2007 game against West Virginia with the Panthers winning 13-9. We were having a little party at our house celebrating my dad's birthday and having the game on TV. We had friends from out of town (actually LSU fans) who were helping us to cheer the Panthers on. We were completely spell bound by the game, counting down the seconds. We were all so excited, we drove down to Oakland to celebrate with the students and anyone else who wanted to join in our fun. We ran up the Cathedral outdoor steps and chanted "Overrated!!!" Of course, we were saying that to WVU who was highly ranked that year. We just walked around Oakland high-fiving anyone and everyone. It was a great night for Pitt!!

Kathleen Slencak
As a student in Pitt Stadium in November 1976 when Pitt was playing Army and the PA announcer told the fans that Purdue upset #1 Michigan ... and we knew that our Pitt Panthers were now the #1 team in the country. It was a privilege to watch Tony Dorsett play college football.

Regina Stover
Larry Fitzgerald stretching for a touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone, scoring, then politely handing the ball to the referee.

Tyrell Swan
Our 2013 defeat of ND, 28-21... What an awesome game that was! #H2P

Kevin Van Kirk
Sitting in the Superdome on the 1st of January 1982 with little time left on the clock and 4th and forever (actually I think it was 10) and watching Dan Marino find a wide open John Brown for the touchdown. What a great ending to a great game.

Anson Whaley
12-0 win over Penn State in the last football game played between the two teams.

John Wilds
Pitt come from behind win over WVU 36-35, (1970) Pitt Big East Basketball Championship at MSG (2003) and a few more.

Patrick Worms
In February 2010, the Pitt basketball team was down by 7 points to West Virginia with less than a minute to go in the game with West Virginia having the ball possession. Although some fans decided to take an early exit from the game, the remaining fans continued to rock the Peterson! Pitt rallied to tie the game and send the game into overtime. The game eventually went into a second overtime and then into a third overtime. Pitt finally won the game in the third overtime.
