2006-2007: Barnes placed fourth in the 200 breast, seventh in the 100 breast and aided the 400 medley relay team to a fourth-place finish at the Big East Championships...finished first in both breaststrokes against Virginia Tech...tallied a second-place finish in the 200 breast during a tri-meet against Maryland and Villanova....won the 100 breast and placed second in the 200 breast against rival West Virginia...helped the Panthers place fourth in the 400 medley relay at the Princeton Big Al Invitational...recorded NCAA B cut times in both breaststroke at Princeton...chipped in two individual first-place finishes in the 100 and 200 breast against Notre Dame.
2005-2006: Barnes was named an All-Big East selection on the 400 medley relay team...placed first in the team's yearly best times list in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke...a member of the team-best 200 and 400 medley relay teams...set career-best times in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke.
2004-2005: Barnes placed in the top eight in two events at the Big East Championships in his first year...just missed all-conference honors in the 200 breaststroke with a fourth-place finish...swam to a 56.16 effort in the 100 breaststroke for sixth-place...finished the season with the team's top-time in the 200 breaststroke and second-best in the 100 breaststroke.
HIGH SCHOOL: Barnes placed in the top six at Canadian Nationals for three straight years from 2001-03...competed in the Canadian Olympic Trials and finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 200 breaststroke...won a Canadian Junior National title in the 100 breaststroke.
PERSONAL: Born May 6, 1985...son of Ron and Debbie Barnes...has one sister...a sociology major.
