2015-16: Took fifth in the 100 breast and helped 400 free plus 200 and 400 medley relays to third place finishes at Virginia Tech/Notre Dame…Placed 2nd in 100 breaststroke, and participated in 400 medlay relay, 200 yard breaststroke, and 200 yard freestyle relay at Bucknell...Took third in the 50 yard free (20.98), competed in the 100 yard free, and on top of that helped swim his team to a win in the 200 yard freestyle relay and a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay.
2014-15: Placed third in both the 50 free and 100 free against St. Bonaventure ... Helped Pitt placed second in the 200 medley relay versus Bucknell and placed fourth in the 50 free individually ... Competed in one championship final at the Pitt Invite, placing seventh in the 100 breast ... Placed in the top-50 of both the 100 breast (56.22) and 200 breast (2:03.17) at the AT&T Winter Nationals ... Finished second in the 200 breast at Denison ... At the Senior Recognition Meet, individually placed second in the 100 breast and third in the 100 fly and helped Pitt to first in the 200 free relay ... Placed first in the 100 breast, second in the 100 free, and swam the third leg of the first place 400 free relay against Villanova ... Competed at the ACC Championships and set lifetime bests in the 50 free (20.61), 100 breast (55.56) and 200 breast (2:02.68).
2013-14: Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll ... At the Pitt Panthers Invitational, he took first place in the 200 yard freestyle relay...Also finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke... Contributed to a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay at the Western PA Invitational... Assisted in the first place finish in the 400 yard free relay at the ECAC Championships.
High School: Finished in third place in the 50-meter breaststroke at the NCSA Junior National Championships in 2011...was a 200 medley relay, 200 individual medley and team state champion at the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Meet his sophomore year.
Personal: Born March 15, 1995...son of Robert and Sue Calegan...has an older brother Tyler and younger sister Olivia...majoring in astronomy and physics.
