Panthers Honor their 100 years of swimming and diving
2012-2013: Against St. Bonaventure, Lierley finished second in three individual events: the 200 fly, 200 IM and 100 fly...Finished second in the 100 butterfly (50.56) and third in the 200 IM against UVa...On the road against Cincinnati Lierley placed first in the 200 free (1:41.71) and second in the 100 fly...Placed third against Notre Dame in both the men's 100 and 200 yard butterfly...Finished first in the men's 800 yard freestyle relay while placing second in the 200 yard IM, 200 yard butterfly, and 200 and 400 yard medley relays at the Pitt Invitational...Lierley placed 19th in the 200 Butterfly at the AT&T Winter Nationals held at the University of Texas...Lierley also swam a season-best time of 1:48.60 and finished third in his heat of the 200 Fly C Finals...Finished second in the men's 100 and 200 yard butterfly races while also taking third in the 200 IM against WVU...Aided the 200 medley relay team to a fourth place finish while individually placing second in the100 free and third in the 50 free at the Western PA Invitational.
2011-2012: Voted Co-Most Valuable Swimmer...Named a CSCAA Academic All-America...Competed in the 200 fly at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Neb....broke the school record in the 200 fly (1:46.40) with an NCAA provisional and fourth-place finish at the Big East Championship on Feb. 15...placed 11th in the 200 IM at the Big East Championship...was also ranked in the top eight in the 100 fly...first to the wall in the 200 fly and second in the 200 free at Buffalo (Oct. 21)...clinched first in the 200 fly and second in the 100 fly at St. Bonaventure (Oct. 22)...member of the first-place 400 free relay team and claimed second in the 100 fly against Notre Dame (Oct. 28)...topped the podium in the 200 fly and won bronze in the 100 fly and 100 free against Louisville (Nov. 4)...placed first in the 200 free and 200 IM and second in the 500 free against Cincinnati (Nov. 11)...claimed first in the 800 free relay, second in the 200 IM and 200 fly and third in the 100 fly at the Pitt Invitational (Nov. 19)...captured silver in the 200 IM at West Virginia (Jan. 7)...touched for third in the 400 IM and 100 fly against Maryland (Jan. 13)...finished second in the 200 fly against the Terps...swam on the winning 200 free relay team at the same meet...placed third in the 200 fly at Virginia (Jan. 28)...captured second in the 100 free and the 200 free and third in the 50 free during the last dual meet of the season (Feb. 4)...raced in the 50 free (24.85) and 100 fly (55.84) at the Indianapolis Grand Prix (March 31).
High School: Qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials after winning the 200 fly at the Senior Sectional Meet in Athens, Ga....named All-Lowcountry Swimmer of the Year...garnered state titles in the 100 fly and 100 free at the South Carolina High School State Meet...set state records in the 100 fly and 100 free...qualified for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 USA Swimming Junior Nationals...a three-year USA Swimming Scholastic All-America...a member of the Mount Pleasant Swim Club for six years.
