Senior Joanna Budzis Breaks Another School Record

Freshman Mack Rice breaks the 200 IM Record.

2012-2013: Broke the school record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.92...Won the both the 200 IM (1:54.01) and 200 fly (1:52.15)while placing second in the 200 breast versus St. Bonaventure...Placed first in the 200 IM (1:53.52) against Virginia...At away meet against Cincinnati Rice placed first in the 400 IM (4:07.40), second in the 200 fly (1:52.10) and third in the 500 free...Against Notre Dame he placed first in the 200 IM, second in the 200 back and fourth in the 200 fly...At the Pitt Invitational he broke the school record for the 200 IM with a time of 1:48.92 -- winning the event...also placed second in the 400 IM, and 200 back, all career-bests...At the AT&T Winter Nationals held at the University of Texas Rice swam a 1:51.35 in the 200 IM...Finished first in the men's 200 yard IM as well as second in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke and 200 yard medley relay against WVU...Placed first in the men's 200 yard medley relay at the Western PA Invitational where he also took first in the 200 yard fly.

High School: Graduated from Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio he earned four varsity letters in swimming...voted Varsity MVP each season...owns school records in the 100 free (48.36), 200 Free (1:46.43), 100 Back (50.17), 100 Fly (50.49), 100 breast (1:00.07), 200 IM (1:49.23) and as a member if the 200 Medley relay (1:38.16 overall)...four-time high school state finalist...finished in the top eight of a state event on seven different occasions...victorious in two 200 IM state championships and holds the state record in the 200 IM (1:49.23) which he set as a junior...also was runner-up in the 100 back and fifth in the medley relay at the state championships as a senior...earned All-American status six times in three different events...also garnered Scholastic Al-American, First Team All-State, First Team All-District, First Team All-CHL and Enquirer First Team honors throughout high school career...won eight CHL championships from 2010-2012...holds CHL record in 100 fly (51.12) and 200 IM (1:54.78)...lauded as CHL swimmer of the year three consecutive times from 2010-2012...captained swim team in 2012...inducted into the Indian Hill High School Hall of Fame for Swimming in 2011...received Channel 5 Athlete of the Week award as a senior...was a finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman State award...received the William Roessler Minturn Award for Outstanding Character and Leadership...selected by the Cincinnati Enquire as the Winter Sports Athlete of the Year in 2012...earned Southwest District Swimmer of the Year honors in 2012...awarded the Suburban Press Athlete of the Year award in 2011...competed on the cross country team and was twice voted team MVP.
