Eight Swimmers Honored On All-ACC Academic Swimming & Diving Teams

Six Pitt women made the list, tied for the second most from any school.

2015-16: Runner-up in the 500 free (4:35.68), helped 800 free relay team to second place, and finished seventh in the 1650 free at Virginia Tech/Notre Dame…Won the 500 yard free (4:36.83) and placed 3rd in 1000 free while swimming in the 400 yard IM at Bucknell...Placed second in the 500 yard freestyle (4:36.78) while also competing in the 1000 yard freestyle and the 200 yard free relay against Georgia Tech.

2014-15: 2015 All-ACC Academic Swimming & Diving Team ... In the season opener against Duke, took second in the 500 free and fourth in the 1000 free ... Placed third in both the 500 free and 1000 free at Georgia Tech/Georgia Southern ... Won the 500 and finished second in the 200 free against St. Bonaventure ... Placed first in the 1000 free and was third in the 500 free versus Bucknell ... Top Panthers finisher and fifth overall in the 500 free at Notre Dame/Virginia Tech ... Qualified for two championship finals at the Pitt Invite, taking second in the 500 free and seventh in the 200 fly, while also swimming to fifth in the 1650 free ... Raced in the 500 free at the AT&T Winter Nationals ... Took second in the 1000 free against West Virginia ... At Denison, was second in the 500 free and fourth in the 1650 free ... Had three top-four finishes at the Senior Recognition meet, winning the 200 free, taking third in the 200 fly and fourth in the 400 IM ... Had two first place finishes against Villanova in the 500 free and 1000 free (9:35.81), which was a personal best ... Competed at the ACC Championships and had a season best in the 500 free.

: Named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll ... Finished second in the 1000 freestyle against St. Bonaventure... Finished third in the 500 freestyle against St. Bonaventure... Finished third in the 500 freestyle against Bucknell...At the Pitt Invitational he finished fourth in the 500 free, sixteenth in the 200 free, fifth in the 400 freestyle relay and sixth in the 1650 freestyle...Won the 500 freestyle at the ECAC Championships...He also earned sixth place in the 200 free and tenth place in the 1650 freestyle at the ECAC Championships...Earned the Most Improved Male swimmer award for the 2013-2014 season.

High School: Was the Upstate 8 champion and All-American in the 500 freestyle...all-state and high school All-American in the 400 freestyle relay along with holding the school record in that event...runner-up in the 200 IM...NCSA Junior National Qualifier in 2013...IL Senior Championship medalist in 2012-2013...three time state qualifier...four year varsity letter winner.

Personal: Born August 11, 1995...son of John and Maria Gray...has an older brother, A.J....was the Runner of the year, MVP and River Division Upstate 8 champion in cross country in 2012...currently is undecided on his major.
