2012-2013: Won the 500 yard free (4:40.16) while placing second in both the 100 and 200 free races against St Bonaventure... Also anchored the winning group in the men's 200 yard free relay...Part of the winning 200 medley relay team against Virginia where he also placed third in the 200 breast (1:40.41)...At away meet against Cincinnati Sweeney won the 1000 free (9:34.69), placed second in the 100 free and third in the 200 fly...Against Notre Dame he placed second in the 500 free (4:36.55) and third in the 1000 free (9:38.14)...At the Pitt Invitational he had a career-best in the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 free and 100 back...also won the 200 free...At the AT&T Winter Nationals at the University of Texas, Sweeney placed 17th in the 1650 (15:53.56) also swam in the 200 free and 500 free...At West Virginia, he placed first in three events including the 1000 free (9:33.88), 100 free (45.93) and the 500 free (4:35.93)...He also anchored the first place 400 free relay team at West Virginia...Was on the winning teams for the 200 yard medley relay as well as the 200 yard freestyle relay at the Western PA Invitational and placed first in the 50 yard free and 100 yard fly.
High School: Was Georgia State Champion for Division 1-4A in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:39.15...received Coaches Award for the Tidal Wave Swimming Club in four consecutive years in 2009-12, where he swam for 10 years...from Dallas, Texas.
