Kelsey Herbst and the 200 free relay team earn All-Big East honors
2012-2013: Placed third in the men's 200 fly, 500 free, and 200 medley relay against St. Bonaventure...also placed fifth in the men's 200 IM...Placed third in the 200 fly (1:51.09) and second in the 200 IM (1:54.50) against Virginia...Against Cincinnati he placed first in both the 200 fly (1:50.14) and 500 free (4:40.23)as well as a third place finish in the 400 IM...Against Notre Dame he won the 200 fly (1:50.08) and placed third in the 500 free...At the Pitt Invitational he had a career-best in the 200 IM (also a third place finish), career-best in the 400 IM and first place finish, a first place and career-best in the 200 fly...At West Virginia, he individually placed first in the 200 butterfly (1:50.00), third in the 100 butterfly (51.19) and fourth in the 200 IM...Also was part of the third place 200 medley relay team against West Virginia...Swam to third in the 200 yard medley relay at the Western PA Invitational where he also placed first in the 200 yard back.
High School: Hails from Johannesburg, South Africa where he attended Cambridge International Distance College...won 10 SA National Age Group titles throughout high school career...won the SA National Age Group team championship in 2012...qualified for SA Senior Nationals in 2010, 2011 and 2012...holds CGA State record in the 400 IM for age group 18...advanced to Fina World Short course championship finals in 200m fly...member of Team South Africa that competed at the Youth Commonwealth Games in September, 2011.
