Pitt divers qualify for the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2008.

2007-2008: Alex Volovetski garnered All-America honors on the 1M board with an eighth-place performance at NCAAs... is just the fifth Panther to earn All-America honors under Chuck Knoles helm...becomes the second diver in the last four years to earn the Big East Most Outstanding Male Diver of the Year award...fourth Pitt diver to repeat as the 1M diving champion at the conference meet...swept the 1M and 3M events at the NCAA Zone-A Diving Qualifying meet and the Big East Championships...finished in the top four of the 3M diving event on the first day of the Georgia Diving Invitational placing second in the finals of the 1M...named a Pitt Performer in the meet against West Virginia after sweeping the 1M and 3M events against WVU...announced as Pitt Performer of the Meet against Maryland, Villanova, Penn State and Missouri after winning both the 1M and 3M board. 2006-2007: Volovetski captured his second Big East Championship after posting a score of 374.50 points in the finals of the 1M diving event...took third in the 3M competition after tallying 331.65 points at the BEC meet...set a new school record against rival West Virginia in the 1M event with 380.03 points...paced all competitiors at the Rutgers Invitational and took first in both the 1M (342.10) and 3M (364.25) competitions...swept both boards in a meet against Cincinnati...claimed first place honors for the 1M board at the tri-meet against Villanova and Maryland.

2005-2006: Volovetski turned in a stellar freshman campaign and placed sixth at the U.S. Diving Open on the 1M All-Big East selection in the 1M, 3M and Platform boards...earned a Big East title on the Platform...held the 1M diving record with 349.10 points. HIGH SCHOOL:Volovetski was a four-time Western Conference champion on the boards...a AA Florida State champion...2005 team MVP...five-year Jet Stream dive, taking second place in Region 7 summer championships...Diver Athlete of Hillsbrough County...member of the honors court.
