Aaron Workman enters his third season as an assistant coach and primarily works with the sprint group for men's and women's swimming. Additionally, Workman is the lead recruiter for men's swimming. This season, Workman returns a highly touted men's sprint group.

Workman arrived at Pitt after coaching at the University of Nevada Las Vegas for two seasons where he served as assistant swim coach and recruiting coordinator. Workman oversaw all aspects of men's and women's recruiting, sprint/middle distance-group, the operation of all meets and invitationals and travel budget.

Workman was also instrumental in the success of Stacie Safritt's qualifying for and participating in the 2008 Olympic Trials.

While at UNLV, Workman coached the Rebels to a 28th place finish at the NCAA (Division I) Championships and helped guide the men's swimming team's back-to-back Mountain West Conference titles.

Workman had a brief head coaching stint at Hollins University (2002-2003) where he led the team to his best finish in three seasons. While at Hollins, Workman coached two conference swimmers of the week and led his team to the highest point total at conference meets in three seasons.

Workman's collegiate coaching skills also include assistant stints at Wittenberg University (2003-2004) and the University of Kentucky (2001-2002). At Wittenberg, Workman coached two NCAA All-Americans and a top 20 Division III finish at the National Championships.

While serving as an assistant senior coach for the Wildcats Aquatics Club (2002-2004) for two years, he helped coach eight sectional qualifiers and two Senior National Qualifiers.

Workman received his bachelor of science degree in broadcasting from Kentucky in 2001. As an undergraduate at Kentucky, he swam for the Wildcats and was a four-time All-American in four seasons there. He helped the Wildcats to four straight top-20 finishes, and was also a two-time academic all-conference selection while earning Academic All-America honors in 2001. Workman swam in the 2000 Olympic Trials.

Along with coaching, Workman is very active in serving his community. He has spent time assisting Maxwell Elementary School as a Big Buddy, D.A.R.E. as a speaker, Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army.

Workman resides in Bradford Woods with his wife Jamie, a former All-American swimmer at Kentucky, and their daughter Molly Lynn (2). The Workmans are also expecting another child in Feb.
