INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Senior Kelsey Herbst concluded her phenomenal career as a Pitt Panther by swimming the 1650 yard freestyle at the NCAA Women’s National Championship Meet.
Herbst placed 35th overall with a time of 16:26.64. It was her second fastest time of the season, behind her school-recording setting performance of 16:20.78 which she set at the Big East Championship Meet in February.
Haley Anderson of USC won the event in a time of 15:45.98. She was one second clear of Texas A&M’s Sarah Henry for the championship.
Herbst ends her career as the school record holder in the 500, the 1000 and the 1650 yard freestyle, as well as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team.
Kourosh Ahani will be the final swimmer of the season for the Panthers as he competes in the NCAA Men’s National Championship Meet next weekend.
