PISCATAWAY, N.J.—Two Panthers advanced to the finals on both boards, as Pitt’s divers competed in the 2010 NCAA Diving Zones, held at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center. Those competing included seniors Margo Ekstrom and Alyssa Ferraro and juniors Collin Forner and Zane McLain.
Ferraro earned a seed in the finals of both boards for the women. First, she placed 13th overall in the 1M event and then claimed 17th on the 3M board.
In the finals of the 1M, Ferraro registered a total of 452.45 points. Earlier, she tallied 232.65 points for 10th in the prelims.
Improving to 17th in the finals of the 3M board with a score of 454.35 points, Ferraro recorded the last spot in the finals with 226.85 points in the prelims.
Ekstrom would place eighth In the 1M prelims with 240.75 points. Later in the finals, she slipped to ninth with a score of 489.15. Ekstrom also finished 21st with 225.50 points on the 3M board.
For the men, the Panthers went 13th and 14th in the finals of the 1M board. McLain scored 559.90 points, while Forner went 556.70.
On the 3M board, McLain placed 10th in the prelims with 298.25 points. He finished 13th overall in the finals, claiming 570.55 total points.
Forner placed 20th in the 3M event with 258.40 points.
