INDIANAPOLIS - University of Pittsburgh sophomore Kourosh Ahani will swim in the 100 fly at the men's NCAA Championship Meet this Friday at the IU Natitorium.
Ahani currently ranks 29th nationally in the event and has had a strong second season at Pitt, resulting in his first NCAA Championship appearance. He has earned eight first place finishes in the 100 fly this season and holds the school record in it, posting a 46.74 at the 2012-13 Big East Championship Meet. Additionally, Ahani was part of the school record breaking 200 medley team that posted a 1:27.34 at this season's Big East Championship.
The prelims of the 100 fly are scheduled for the Friday morning session beginning at 11 a.m., while the finals are at 7 p.m. Ahani is the only Big East Swimmer to be representing the conference in his event.
