Lee has won six individual events this season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Veronica Lee has been named the Big East Female Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for her efforts last Sunday against Virginia at Trees Pool.
Lee won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in a time of 1:05.52 and then doubled back to capture the 200 Breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:18.22. She concluded her day with a victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.49.
The Toronto, Ontario native has now won the 200 Yard Breaststroke and the 200 Yard IM in each of Pitt’s first two meets of 2012.
Senior Ben Smith of Villanova was awarded the Big East Male Athlete of the Week.
Lee leads the Pitt swimming and diving team into its first Big East competition of the season this Saturday, Nov. 3 when the Panthers compete at Cincinnati.
