CINCINNATI - In their first away meet of the season, the University of Pittsburgh men's and women's swimming and diving teams meet up with Big East foe Cincinnati on Saturday morning at the Keating Aquatic Center.
Both the men and the women enter Saturday's contest with a record of 1-1 after each team beat St. Bonaventure then lost to Virginia, both coming at Trees Pool.
Adam Maczewski and Kourosh Ahani own the fastest men's times in the Big East this season in their respective events. Maczewski's posted a time of 49.50 against the Cavaliers. The senior has never lost that event in a dual meet as a Panther. Ahani's time of 49.29 was also posted against UVA and is the fastest time this season.
The women's team also boasts a Big East top time with Kelsey Herbst in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Herbst posted a time of 4:55.15 against Virginia last weekend.
Veronica Lee is the reigning Big East Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts against the Cavaliers last Sunday. Lee won three individual events for the second consecutive meet, taking first in the 100 and 200 Yard Breaststroke and the 200 IM against UVA. She has won the 200 Breast and the 200 IM in each meet this season.
Aaron Snyder continues to lead the male divers. He won the 1M against UVA and took second in the 3M, while against St. Bonaventure he won both events. Angelika McGhee placed second in both events against UVA.
Diving will get the meet started on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by swimming events which begin at 1 p.m.
