PITTSBURGH – After four consecutive dual meets, the University of Pittsburgh men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host the Pitt Invitational this weekend, Nov. 16-18 at Trees Pool.
The Panthers will welcome both the men and women’s teams from California (Pa.), Fairmont State, Florida Atlantic, Pitt Bradford, West Virginia and West Virginia Wesleyan, along with the women from James Madison and the men from St. Bonaventure.
Pitt is 2-2 after its first four dual meets, and 1-1 in Big East competition. Their wins came against St. Bonaventure and Cincinnati, while their losses came against nationally-ranked opponents in Virginia and Notre Dame.
Adam Maczewski and Kourosh Ahani own the fastest times in the Big East this season in their respective events, while each of them are yet to be beaten. The 100 Backstroke is an event Maczewski has never lost at Pitt. Veronica Lee on the women’s side remains unbeaten in the 200 Breaststroke this season.
Competition will start at 10 a.m. each morning with prelims, followed by the finals that evening at 6 p.m.
