PITTSBURGH, Pa. – As the Panthers are in Florida for their annual training trip, they look ahead to the second part of their season starting on January 12th with a home meet against West Virginia. Pitt hopes to continue its momentum that it built after a stellar opening half of the schedule.

Both the men and the women are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Big East action. Both squads defeated St. Bonaventure and Cincinnati, and lost to nationally ranked opponents Virginia and Notre Dame. After a phenomenal weekend at the Pitt Invitational, both teams cracked the national rankings according to the CollegeSwimming.com Performance Poll as the men checked in at No. 16 and the women were No. 23.

The Warsaw, Poland native is still undefeated in that event at Pittsburgh. He also has the fourth fastest 200 Yard Backstroke time in conference.

Sophomore Kourosh Ahani has recorded the conference’s second fastest time in the 100 Fly with a 48.29 at the Pitt Invitational. Like Maczewski, Ahani has never lost that event at a dual meet.
