Panthers look for a strong debut to the 2014-15 season
2014 Outdoor:Ran in the 100M (12.39) at the Raleigh Relays...Posted personal Outdoor bests in the 200M (24.98) and the 800M (2:28.77) at the UNC Relays. 2013-14 Indoor: Whittington claimed first place in the 300M dash at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala with a time of 39.45...Set a new personal record in the 60M dash with a time of 7.68 at the same event...Ran a personal season-best 24.43 in the 200M at the Nittany Lion Challenge...Competed in the 400M (55.37) at the Hokie Invite...Competed with 4x400M relay team at the ACC Championships where they recorded a time of 3:44.44.
2012 Outdoor: Finished second in the 400M hurdles (1:06.29) at the Early Bird Invitational...competed in the 400M at the Big East Championships running 55.02. 2011-12 Indoor: Competed at the Spire Invitational where she placed eighth in the 200M with a time of 24.59, a career best...a member of the 4x200M relay that competed at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational finishing second with a time of 1:36.74, which broke the previous school record of 1:37.80.
High School:Whittington was a four time state champion in4x400 meter relay (2007-11), in the 400 for three consecutive years (2008-11) and in the 4x200 in 2011...finished second in the state in the 200 during 2009-10...regional and county champion in the 100, 200, 400 and 4x4 for three consecutive years (2008-11)...named All-America eight times, athlete of the week three times, athlete of the year two times and all-state three times...10-time state champion...also competed in varsity soccer as a freshman and sophomore, varsity basketball as a freshman, junior and senior, AAU soccer and basketball and ODP soccer...ran for the Baltimore, Md. track and field national champions for five years...three-time national 4x1 champion...a member of the art honor society...vice president for her high school.
Personal:Born on Oct. 27, 1992...daughter of Charles Gregory Whittington Jr. and Xontippie Sherrylee Whittington...majoring in communications linguistics...also lived in Alaska for eight years.
