GREENSBORO, North Carolina – The Atlantic Coast Conference recognized Desmond Palmer as the Men's ACC Performer of the week (May 19) for his remarkable accomplishments at the IC4A Championships last weekend.
Only a freshman, Palmer was crowned the 400M hurdle champion in a new personal best time (51.50). He also led the 4x400 meter relay to a top-five finish in the finals, adding to the Panther's overall team score. With these contributions, he helped the Pitt Panthers win the IC4A team championship - the first IC4A team championship for Pitt in 74 years.
Palmer will next compete at the NCAA East Regional Championships in the Jacksonville, Florida, starting May 29th, in hopes of qualifying for and continuing onto the NCAA Championships held in June in Eugene, Oregon.
