PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh women’s cross country team posted a 10th place finish at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, run at Schenley Park. Over 150 runners and 14 teams competed on the day.

Eight of the 21 Panther women running on the day finished in the top-100.

Senior Melissa Vignetti (Pittsburgh, Pa./McMurray) led the Pitt women on the day, finishing 27th with a time of 20:34.39 in the 5k race. Sophomore Heather Calisto (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) was 61st in a time of 22:00.96 while senior Gizelle Joshua (West Orange, N.J./Gene Emering) followed close behind in 68th, turning in a time of 22:15.50.

The Panthers will be in action again Saturday, Oct. 18, when they travel to the Delaware Alumni Invitational.
