PITTSBURGH - Pitt's cross country team will compete in two separate races on Saturday, Sept. 17. First, one group of runners will travel to Princess Anne, Md. for the Cappy Anderson Invitational, held at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Simultaneously, several other Panthers will run in the Duquesne Tri-Meet at Schenley Park.
The Cappy Anderson Invitational will start at 10:30 a.m. with the women's 6K. The men's 8K is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. Team participating include: Delaware State, Howard, Norfolk State, Morgan State, Towson, Catholic, Coppin State, Wesley College and host Maryland Eastern Shore
This marks the first time the Panthers have travelled to the Cappy Anderson Invitational since 2009 when the men's team finished third and the women placed fifth.
Back in Pittsburgh, the Panthers will face Bucknell and host Duquesne.
Pitt opened its season at the Duquesne Duals on Sept. 4. Freshman Morgan Perry and junior Emily Barno placed in the top 15 for the women, while the men were led by Ben Kisley with an 11th-place performance.
