Pittsburgh's Women's Cross Country Team Receives Votes in Latest National Poll

The women's team is back in action this weekend as it competes at the Iona Meet of Champions.
PITTSBURGH—For the first time in the history of the program, the women’s cross country team has received votes in the FinishLynx rankings. The Panthers tallied 22 votes, which ranks them 31st.
The ranking also puts them ahead of Big East-rival West Virginia, who the women sneaked by, 28-27, at the Duquesne Duals on September 6. Junior Maureen McCandless (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy) led the team with a second-place finish.
The men’s and women’s cross country next competes on Saturday, September 27, at the Iona Meet of Champions.
