10/29/2004

McCandless finished third overall for the women's team, the best finish in the history of the women's program.

Pittsburgh’s men’s and women’s cross country teams both finished seventh today at the 2005 Big East Cross Country Championship in Boston.

On the women’s side, Maureen McCandless placed third overall, marking the best finish ever in the history of the women’s program. She eclipsed Lori Wood, who placed fifth at the 1985 championships. McCandless finished with a time of 20.11.

For the men, Tim Konoval led the team with a 29th-place finish with a time of 24.55. He finished 7th among all sophomores in the conference.
