Maureen McCandless To Represent Pittsburgh at NCAA Cross Country Championships

McCandless qualified for the national meet by winning the regional meet last weekend at State College.

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women’s cross country team will be represented next week at the NCAA Championships by senior, Maureen McCandless.

McCandless has been the highlight of the women’s team this season, leading the team in every meet. She has proven herself to be a national-caliber athlete winning the NCAA Regionals last weekend at State College. McCandless also broke Pittsburgh’s cross country mark this year at the Big East Championships, placing third overall, which is the best finish in the history of the women’s program.

The NCAA Championships will be held at Indiana University, Monday Nov. 22, beginning at 11 a.m.
