PITTSBURGH-The University of Pittsburgh cross country team will travel to Bronx, NY this weekend to compete in the ECAC-IC4A Championships on Saturday. The men's 8-k will start the event at 11:30 a.m. and will be followed by the women's 5K at 12:15 p.m.
The Panthers will send nine runners from the men's team and twelve runners from the women's team. For the men: Alex Archer, Rich Addison, Cullen Davis, Ben Kisley, Chris Montgomery, Chris Pastore, Wes Roberts, Mike Runco and Luke Swomley will be competing.
Junior Cullen Davis led the Panthers in three of the men's eight races this season. His best finish came in the Pre-Nationals on Oct. 19 where he came in fourth place overall.
In the women's race: Paige Anderson, Hillary Boxheimer, Rachel Brown, Audrey Burger, Ally Cady, Kelsey Coates, Kelsey Metheny, Erin Moss, Karli Oneill, Morgan Perry, Abby Peters and Stephanie Powers will look to build on their strong season in their final race.
Junior Morgan Perry and sophomore Hillary Boxheimer finished in the top three for the Panthers in five of their eight meets this season. Boxheimer and Perry's best finishes so far this season came in the Duquesne Duals where they took 10th and 12th place, respectively.
The Panthers come into this meet after placing in 14th on the women's side and 16th on the men's side in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Bethlehem, Pa.
In that meet, Boxheimer paced the Panthers with a 48th place finish in the women's race while sophomore Michael Runco crossed the finish line in 54th to lead the way for the men.
