JUNIOR (2006): Mike Bassage saw action out of the bullpen in 16 games for the Panthers as a junior...pitched a total of 27.2 innings, giving up 34 hits,16 runs, 14 earned runs and one homerun...recorded 17 strikeouts and eight walks while facing 103 batters...finished the season with a 4.55 ERA and 2-3 record...pitched a solid inning of relief in a 12-inning, 2-1 loss to Vanderbilt...helped Pitt secure a 9-3 win over St. Joseph's with 2.1 innings of relief...pitched a career-high 6.2 innings vs. St. John's on April 9, allowing three hits, two runs and two walks, while recording a career-high nine strikeouts...earned first win since 2004 in 11-8 contest vs. Cleveland State on May 3... tallied a team-best two pickoffs during the season.
SOPHOMORE (2005): Mike Bassage saw action out of the bullpen in seven games as a sophomore...earned his second career save by pitching the final three innings of a 16-2 win over Youngstown State...struck out a batter in one inning of work vs. Niagara while not allowing a base runner...pitched 1.2 innings of relief against La Salle, allowing no runs and two hits while striking out one...finished the season with 12 strikeouts in 10.2 innings.
FRESHMAN (2004): Bassage owned a perfect 4-0 record with a 3.60 ERA, which was second on the team...picked up his first win as a Panther in the 9-8 victory over Niagara...pitched four innings and struck out a career-high four Purple Eagles while allowing just two hits...notched his second career win in the 6-5 comeback victory over Georgetown...pitched the final inning as the Panthers scored five runs in the last inning to seal the victory....also worked the final 1.2 innings against Notre Dame and picked up the win...allowed one run and three hits...tallied his fourth win of the season in the Panthers' 5-1 victory over Duquesne at PNC Park...pitched 2.0 innings of relief and allowed no hits and no runs while striking out two batters...combined for a shutout with Paul Nardozzi in the 11-0 victory over Akron...pitched the last two innings and struck out two Zips...pitched one inning and earned his first save in the Panthers' 3-1 victory over Kent State...pitched the first four innings in his only start vs. Youngstown State and scattered five hits and allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out three batters and walking none.
HIGH SCHOOL: Compiled a career record of 32-3 with a 0.96 ERA in four seasons for Hornell...led team to two West Regional Championships and a four-year record of 78-22...helped team win three sectional championships...member of the League Champion Hornell American Legion.
