Chester's high school baseball team was four time district champions and one time region champions...he was three time all-Metro...an all-state baseball player of the year nominee...a two time Tulsa 7 conference player of the year...competed with the Gastonia Grizzlies where he had a .240 BA, 7 HR and 39 RBIs...played four years of football...named all Metro for football and pre-season all-state...an Oil Bowl selection for football...also, played four years of basketball...named all-Metro in basketball and won one district championship...was class president and participated in the FCA and FEA clubs.
