Sophomore (2001): Brant Colamarino was a solid offensive and defensive threat for the Panthers in just his second season...split time with Brad Rea at first base and designated hitter...started 44 of 45 games...finished his sophomore campaign with a solid .337 batting average, which was third on the squad...led the team in hits (57), doubles (18) and total bases (96)...tied for the team-high in runs (31)...finished with a .568 slugging percentage, which was second to only Rea...in 249 chances in the field, made just three errors for a .988 fielding percentage...began the year on a tear, pounding Albany for three hits in four at-bats and plating four RBIs...had a home run and a double in the opener...followed that with a 2-for-4 performance against Sacred Heart...finished the Homestead Challenge on fire, going 3-for-4 against Holy Cross, 3 of 4 versus Duquesne and 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs against Marist...named Big East Player of the Week for his efforts at the Homestead Challenge...tallied three hits in five at-bats in the final game against Georgetown...lit up Cleveland State, finishing 3 of 4 with three RBIs, two runs and a home run...totaled three hits in the nightcap at St. John's...went 5 of 12 with two RBIs and three runs in the Villanova weekend series...recorded three hits in the Panthers series-opening victory over Virginia Tech, including one double and one run scored.

Freshman (2000): Colamarino served primarily as Pittsburgh's designated hitter while rotating into the defensive lineup at first base...produced two or more hits on nine occasions...most memorable offensive production came at Notre Dame (May 7) where he hit two home runs in the top of the ninth inning to lead the Panthers in their most dramatic come-from-behind victory...accounted for nine of Pittsburgh's 22 runs in the game while batting 4-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBI, including five in the ninth inning alone...named Big East Co-Rookie of the Week (May 8) for his efforts...went 3-for-4 with two runs versus Oakland (March 22) and 3-for-4 with a run and RBI versus Buffalo (March 30)...also scored three runs in an 8-3 victory at Youngstown State (May 2)...hit his first career home run at Cleveland State (March 28).

High School: Four-time All-Area player at nearby Central Catholic High School...named the All-East Player of the Year as a senior...finished with a batting average of .520 in 1999...in 50 at-bats, had 26 hits, 17 runs, 18 RBI and 0 strike outs...had a .900 slugging percentage...a five-year member of Shaler Legion...also earned All-East honors in football.
