Pitt Baseball: Year In Review

On Tuesday's for the next month, we will conduct a five-part series that starts with a review of the 2014 season.

2014: Led the Panthers with 56 strikeouts...Made 12 starts posting a 2.90 ERA in 71.1 innings pitched...Finished the year with a 2-2 record...Went 8.0 shutout innings allowing only three hits against No. 23 Georgia Tech...Went 7.0 strong innings allowing two hits and no earned runs against top-ranked Virginia...Threw 6.0 shutout innings against No. 20 Miami...Went 6.1 innings against No. 20 Clemson allowing only one earned run.

2013: Led the Panthers with five saves...finished the year with a 4-1 record, a 3.27 ERA and a bullpen leading 29 strikeouts...earned his first save of the season at St. John's...also picked up saves against Notre Dame, Youngstown State, Cincinnati and his final 11 outings allowed only two runs in 17.0 innings of work while striking out 17...ended his 2013 season with an impressive outing against Seton Hall in the Big East Tournament where he picked up the win after shutting out the Pirates in 5.1 innings of relief.

2012: Made 17 relief appearances in his first season of competition with the Panthers, recording a 4.67 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 27 innings of work...tossed nine consecutive scoreless innings in games against Miami (Ohio) (March 10), Hartford (March 18), and Notre Dame (March 23)...pitched 4.1 innings out of the bullpen against Louisville on May 17, his longest outing of the season, and struck out five batters...fanned a career-high six batters in four frames in a 10-6 win against Hartford (March 18), picking up his first career win...earned his first career save in a 5-3 win over Penn State on April 11, allowing just one hit while striking out two.

2011: Redshirted the season.

High School: Harvey batted over .400 in each of his three varsity seasons...held a 1.42 ERA and went 9-0 with 88 strikeouts his junior year...led his team to the 2009 and 2010 Pennsylvania District 12 Class AA Championship...chosen as a member of the 2010 Rawlings/Perfect Game Pre-Season Atlantic Region High School Senior second team which recognizes the top 400 high school baseball athletes in the United States...named to the Philadelphia Daily News All-City first team...selected as a 2010 Montgomery County Times Herald All-Area Pitcher...chosen as a 2010 Philadelphia Catholic League First Team All-Catholic pitcher and first baseman...named as the All-Southeastern first team a junior, was awarded the KKCHS Outstanding Pitcher of the Year (2009)...selected as a member of both first team all-area and third team all-city...earned an honorable mention for the All-Southeastern Pennsylvania team...helped lead his high school football team to the Philadelphia Catholic League Championship in 2006...under coach Dave Amaro, helped to lead his club team, the Philadelphia Bandits, to capture the Jack Cust Diamond National AAH Tournament title and the 2010 All-Amateur Baseball Association 2010 National Tournament.
