SOPHOMORE (2011) Made two appearances in 2011...tallied two strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched...gave up three hits.
FRESHMAN (2010) J.R. Leonardi had 31 strikeouts in 37.0 innings pitched in 2010... notched his first career victory against Rutgers on April 3 and finished with a 3-4 overall record...recorded a career-high six strikeouts in just three innings pitched against Ball State on March 5...second in saves on the season with five...threw two hitless, scoreless innings of relief to set up the single-season record-breaking save for teammate Joe Leonard on May 15.
HIGH SCHOOL Leonardi helped his team to to the city championship title in both 2008 and 2009...he was named an all-city pitcher (2006, 2007 and 2009), all-city catcher in 2008 and all-city infielder in 2007...named Tribune Review Top 10 High School Baseball Players in 2008...was the team captain as a sophomore, junior and senior...played Springdale baseball all four years...helped the swim teamto the city league championship title (2006-2009)...earned 12 gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal...USMC distinguished athlete in 2009...a National Honor Society member.
