2014: Started 51 games...recorded 39 hits posting a .227 average, seven doubles, 24 runs scored, and 14 RBI...22 of 39 hits came in ACC play...seven multi-hit games on the season...registered first RBI of the season in a two hit effort against Butler...went 2-2 with an RBI and run scored against No. 15 North Carolina...3-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI against Youngstown State...recorded hits in four consecutive games from March 9-March 14...2-4 with two runs scored against Presbyterian.

JC/High School: Johnson is a right-handed hitting shortstop from Plano, Texas. He played for Deron Clark at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas. Matt was a three-year letterman in both baseball and football at Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas, where he was named All-District in both sports. Matt was named the Fall World Series MVP at Paris Junior College and was also named to the Texas/New Mexico JC All-Star Game this past fall. He was also on the president's list as a freshman at PJC with a 4.0 GPA.
